Perth, the sunniest capital in the country, sits on the stunning Swan River. Take a stroll through Kings Park, one of the largest inner-city parks in the world (990 acres), visit historic Fremantle just 20 minutes from central Perth or take the family to Rottnest Island to visit the cute quokkas and the many superb beaches. A day trip to the boutique wine region of Margaret River or a weekend at the seaside town of Mandurah will round out your visit to Perth.
Venturing south from Perth, The Margaret River Region is roughly a 2.5 hour drive to Busselton and the start of this magnificent region. The Margaret River Region is renowned for its award-winning wines, but there is so much more to this region to explore. It is overflowing with epic experiences, beautiful landscapes to be explored and locally grown gourmet produce to feast on, the Margaret River Region offers something for everyone!
One of the best ways to explore the region is by hiring a car and exploring it at your own pace. This region spans roughly 100 kilometres of bays, beaches, towns, farms and forests from Busselton to Augusta, with Margaret River township in the middle.
